The Thermal Grizzly Putty (Basic / “TG Putty Basic”) is a flexible, electrically non-conductive thermal gap filler designed as an alternative to traditional thermal pads—especially useful in GPU or component cooling mods where fixed-thickness pads may not perfectly match surface irregularities. It can bridge height differences from about 0.2 to 3.0 mm, which gives it versatility to fill inconsistent gaps between VRAM/VRM chips and heatsinks or between PCBs and backplates. The “Basic” variant specifically offers moderate thermal conductivity (less aggressive than the Advance or Pro versions) and is particularly suited for standard cooling needs where extreme thermal performance isn’t necessary. Application is done using the included spatulas or even by hand (with gloves recommended), shaping it into beads or applying a thin layer—then compressing into place with the cooler to conform to surfaces. Before applying, surfaces must be cleaned and degreased (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol or TG Cleaning Wipes) to ensure proper contact and avoid insulating contaminants.
