Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Enterprise 2 Core License Pack (CSP Perpetual) 

SQL Server 2022 is the latest generation of Microsoft's data platform that significantly extended its capabilities as a platform for data unification. This release has been enhanced to deliver breakthrough scalability and performance to improve the stability and response time of the database. The addition of support for Linux with the release of SQL Server 2017 provided organizations the flexibility to select Windows or Linux operating systems based on their business and application needs. SQL Server 2022 extends the options for Linux with support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0 and Ubuntu 18.04.

Intelligent Query Processing

This new feature can improve the performance of existing workloads with minimal implementation effort. There are several approaches for improving performance including row mode memory grant feedback and batch mode on rowstore, among others.

In-Memory Database

Optimizations include the ability to use Persistent Memory (PMEM) for data pages. Because persistent memory is faster than solid-state drives, the database can service I/O requests faster, accelerating performance. Microsoft has also improved SQL Servers' security features in this release. These enhancements include the protection of data at rest, in transit, and in use, and Always Encrypted with secure enclaves. These features support rich computations on encrypted data, while still protecting sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data. We loaded two additional decision support database tables into the SQL Server database for our virtualization scenario. The CUSTOMER and PARTSUPP tables are medium-sized tables that are queried by using the Oracle Database Gateway as part of the Oracle Big Data SQL solution.
