MAGEGEE Captain72 Magnetic Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The MageGee Captain72 is a compact 65%-layout (68-key) wired mechanical gaming keyboard designed with Hall-effect (magnetic) “rapid trigger” switches. These switches eliminate physical metal contact and rely on magnetic sensing, allowing for ultra-low latency actuation and extremely smooth keypresses. What makes the Captain72 particularly flexible is its adjustable trigger points, letting you set each key’s actuation distance anywhere between 0.1 mm and 4 mm, with 0.1 mm granularity — there are also three preset travel modes (Comfort, Sensitive, Game) for different playstyles. The build is premium: a CNC-machined aluminum top case gives it a solid, sturdy feel, while internally it's gasket-mounted and packed with three layers of sound-absorbing pads to reduce hollow resonance and provide a soft, cushioned typing experience. It supports hot-swapping of its pre-lubed magnetic switches (compatible with OUTEMU magnetic switches), so you can customize without soldering. Keycaps are double-shot PBT, ensuring durability and resistance to wear. For connectivity, it uses a detachable USB-C cable, and RGB backlighting is south-facing, with several lighting modes and customization via MageGee’s software. The included driver lets you remap keys, record macros, tweak trigger distances per key, and adjust lighting — though note, the software is Windows-only.
