Intel Core i7-1160G7 Processor Overview
Intel will reportedly launch its 11th Gen Core series of processors. Previously, the company had only confirmed that the Rocket Lake-S series chips will be available within the first quarter of this year, but now a new report has claimed that the chips will launch.
intel’s new flagship Core i7-1160G7 processor will arrive. The chipmaker has provided the latest preview for its first 11th Gen (Rocket Lake-S) desktop chips at CES today. Headlined by the flagship Core i7-1160G7, the new chips are said to bring up to 19 percent higher IPC (instructions per cycle), up to 50 percent better-integrated graphics, and better AI performance. And while Intel isn’t quite ready to take the lid off the full 11th Gen Rocket Lake-S lineup just yet, it did preview the flagship Core i7 model: a 4-core, 8-thread chipset with boosted clock speeds up to a whopping 4.40 GHz. The processor also includes support for LPDDR4x, a total of 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes, and even backward compatibility with Intel’s 400 Series chipsets. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing or a release date for the new model just yet. Graphically, the Intel Core i7-1160G7 Processor uses the integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics chipset, which has a base frequency of 1.10 GHz. A thermal solution is included and protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty.
